covershotNichelle Clarke is back to her sleuthing ways as she does her best to get the goods on the latest murder before her rivals (both television and internet.) Nichelle has the more challenging media with a print newspaper.

How do you stay ahead of other media sources that can broadcast 24 x 7? Nichelle makes it look almost easy – well except for having to work crazy long hours that make a personal life almost impossible. Almost but not quite if you have a kind of boyfriend who may be involved in a crime family and who can set his own hours to match yours.

In this story, there is yet another murder but the police aren’t giving out any information. That doesn’t stop Nichelle as she uses all types of sources and ruses to ferret out information about the deceased. What’s fair about Nichelle is that she will provide the police information as long as they play fair with her.

Nichelle’s relationship with her maybe criminal boyfriend, Joey, takes some steps forward in this book. Of course, this kind of progress is usually made a lot quicker but then again, this relationship is just a tad unusual.

The book was funny and the mystery was good. I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series that I have read thus far and will be looking for more in the future.

I received a digital ARC copy of this book from the publisher, Henery Press, via Netgalley.
