Mission Hill: A Novel (Abby Endicott Novels)

missionhill“Mission Hill” was an interesting legal thriller. While I was able to figure out the surprise ending well before it was exposed in the story, I still enjoyed the story that led up to it. The only thing that didn’t ring quite true to me was the relationship between the main character, Abby Endicott and her boyfriend. There seems to be a missing link as far as why they are together when there are a lot of reasons for them not to be.

The story is about Abby Endicott and her quest to get an old nemesis behind bars for life. Orlando was involved with the death of her best friend twenty years prior and when, due to really tragic events, his current murder trial ends up with her, she is all-out to get a conviction. The only problem is that there prior history may prove to be his get out of jail free card.

Along with the murder trial, we get to know Abby. She is the daughter of extremely well-to-do and well-connected parents. Her father is completely against her job as a prosecutor and wants her to step into a less threatening area of legal work.

Interestingly, the murder trial is the main event in the book but the surprise ending has nothing to do with. There are a couple of additional storylines that mingle and take over.

It seems like this book will be the start of a series of books about Abby as too much is left open at the end. I enjoyed this story and will certainly look for more in the series if and when they are published.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via the publisher.
