Beautiful relaxation Volume 2: Coloring book for everyone

This my second coloring book by artist Danny Dimm. In this book, he has increased the number of designs to 40, all of which are hand-drawn and which have a wide range of appeal, including animals, landscapes, flowers and much more. I loved the first book in this series and I think this one may be even better yet. The artist puts so many opportunities within the elements of the design for me to be able to experiment with colors that it is a real joy to start coloring.

The artist has put a double border around the designs. I really appreciate that extra touch as it allows me to finish elements that are only partially in the picture. That is important with this book as there are many lines throughout that end up stopping at the border and I like to save color and time by not having to color in the entire background page of a design.

While many of the designs are intricate, most do not include really small parts. It is easy to get pen, pencil and marker into all parts of the designs. There are a couple of designs which have tiny parts which I will use my Prismacolor Verithins on as I can get a really sharp point. I really like that in this book, we see a couple of designs which include people especially the design which is on the cover of the book.

As with all CreateSpace coloring books thus far, the paper is thin enough that my gel pens and markers bleed through to the backside. My colored pencils work really well on this paper. On the plus side, the paper is quite white and the designs are printed on only one side of the sheet (with the bank left blank.) While the sheets are not perforated, it should be easy to remove the page with an exacto knife given there is adequate space around the outside of the border. Or, you can do what I will do and put a piece of heavier paper under the page you are working on so your colors won’t leak through to the next design.
