Beautiful Christian Coloring Book with more than 40 designs printed on one side of non-perforated paper

Joyful Hearts: Coloring Love

Rating: 5 of 5

This is a wonderful coloring book of more than 40 beautiful and inspirational hand-drawn illustrations. The designs are inspired by the words and/or the feelings expressed in the scripture. The words become part of the design by their placement. The translations are from a variety of sources but most are more modern translations versus the traditional ones that I memorized as a child. I love the the scriptures come from both the Old and the New Testament and are an unabashed portrayal of Christian love.

This is the third coloring book I have purchased in the Majestic Expressions Christian series and the second one I have by artist Erin Jons. I so enjoyed the first one, In the Beginning – Coloring Creation with Genesis as the subject matter, I immediately bought this book as I knew it would be just as wonderful.

I am truly inspired by the designs in this book. The artwork is beautiful and has some intricate areas to color; however, for the most part, I will not have any difficulties in coloring these designs using a variety of coloring mediums. The cover art is included in the book but has scripture appropriately added to it.

The designs are printed on white paper that is a nice quality but thin. The designs are printed on only one side (with back left blank.) The paper is acid-free and is not perforated but the publisher states that the pages are easy tear-outs. I assume that is from the glue binding but have not removed one as yet.

All of my markers and most of my gel pens leak through the page (especially bright or dark colors of all brands.) Not a problem, as I can put a heavyweight paper behind the page I am working on to keep the ink from messing up the rest of the book.

I am really pleased with the publishing of so many Christian coloring books and will look for more, especially from this artist and Majestic Expressions, in the future.
