This is my first coloring book by publisher Paige Tate and Co. and artist Lindsay Hopkins. I really enjoy coloring in Christian based coloring books and this one is a great one to add to my growing list. It’s wonderful that the coloring book industry is finally providing us with faith-affirming designs. In this case, there are 30 of them. There is a variety of verses from both Old and New Testament. There isn’t an attribution for the version used, so I can’t pass that along.

The designs in the coloring book are both pretty and easy to color with the verses being prominent. The verses are uplifting and inspiring so I expect that while I am coloring one of these designs, I will not only be taken away from my day to day worries but also be able to think about words that make my day brighter and make my burdens feel less heavy.

The designs are printed on one side of thin white non-perforated paper. The paper is thin enough that you can easily see the print of the design on the reverse side of the page. I don’t really mind thin paper if the design is printed on one side of the page. Only two of the designs merge into the binding area but nothing essential is lost because of it. The binding is glued, so if you want to remove the designs from the book, you will need to cut them out. There is plenty of room to do so without losing any of the design except for the two mentioned previously.

All of my markers and gel pens leaked through the paper. I could see shadows on the back of the sheet from my coloring pencils though the pencils themselves did a good job of coverage. My suggestion is to put a piece of chipboard of card stock under the page you are working on. That way no ink from pens or indents from pencils will mar the following pages.
