Rating: 4.5 of 5

womanwithoutfear“Woman Without Fear” is the first of a series of books about Trinity Silverman and her unusual pet, Speedy.

She is an expert in her field of currency trading but is hamstrung by her overwhelming fears. She is a speaker at a conference in Las Vegas and meets a man at a bar who promises her that some pills that he can supply will overcome her debilitating fears. The price for the pills is that she must meet this man in his hotel room and agree to what he demands of her.

Trinity has an unusual pet who seems to understand more about her than Trinity has any idea. The pet understands her moods and is completely dependent upon her to his care. As Trinity falls deeper in the hole that the pills have created for her, she seems to be falling off in her care of her pet.

The author has created an interesting book about what can happen if you give in to quick fixes. It may be the the fix is perhaps worse than the problem. The book is really a first installment of a series of books. The story in this book is not a complete one as you are left without knowing the end. As a reader, you will be expected to continue to read the series to get to the final answer.

It was an interesting read and one that is fairly unusual in my experience. Most books I have read have a definite beginning and end. Even if they are a series, there is closure on issues to define the end of the book and there might be some portions left open to be developed in the next in the series. In this book, I felt as if nothing was closed and that everything was left open for the future installment.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, AmazonCrossing, via Netgalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
