Nice book for coloring on a trip good compact size

The Creative Colouring Book for Grown-ups

This is a compact travel size book of more than 100 designs which is approximately 7.5 x 5.5 inches. It is the size of a small journal and even has an elastic band to hold the book closed. The designs are a range of floral pictures, abstracts, repetitious patterns, and some that remind me of wallpaper. It is a good mix of designs for a carry-along inexpensive book to color in on the go. Some of the designs are a little too intricate for me to use on the go but those are really the exception and not the rule in this book.

The paper weight is medium and white. The pages are not perforated but the designs leave room at the bound edge so you can color the whole design and, if you wish, remove the page using a pen knife. The book can be opened fairly flat which is a big plus for me.

The designs are printed on both sides of the page. All of my markers seeped through the page and ruined the design on the back. My gel pens and pencils had not problem. If I were going to use markers and sacrifice the back of the page, I would put a piece of heavier paper between so the markers didn’t bleed through to the following page, too. They made the covers with an extra flap on both sides but unfortunately, they aren’t quite long enough to place completely behind the page you are working. Too bad as this would have been the perfect solution for this issue.

Conclusion: It is a nice set of small designs. For my use, I will probably get a basic set of pencils, and hand sharpener together with the book in a go-bag and carry it with me on trips.
