I really enjoy coloring fairies and other fantasy females, especially those with big, gorgeous eyes. Artist Tanya Bond has created a coloring book with 24 designs which fit the bill. The young women are generally accompanied by an animal of some sort (including cats, owls, frogs, snails, and many more.) Each of the designs have a title which describes the young woman and sets the stage for coloring.
This is an overview of what I found in the book as well as my experiences with coloring in it:
24 Hand-drawn Fantasy Designs
Printed on one side of thin, white non-perforated paper typical of CreateSpace publications
Designs do not merge into the binding area
Glue Binding
Plenty of room to cut pages out if you choose to do so
Consistent and dark printing
Alcohol and water based markers bleed through the page
Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on the back of the page
Coloring pencils work well, good color and blending but hard lead pencils leave dents on the back of the page
I’m having a lot of fun coloring these designs choosing which colors I like best to give the right mood to the subject. I finished my first two pictures and am busy working on the next one.
