Engrossing mystery – fourth in series

This is the first mystery I have read by Annette Dashofy. It is also the fourth in her series of Zoe Chambers mysteries. I found it easy to pick up the plot and character line even mid-series. It’s obvious that there have been many twists and turns in prior books and I appreciate that the author hinted at some of those without giving away the plot lines of those books. Even so, I think it might be best to read this series in order so you can see the character development.

In this story, Zoe Chambers is part of an EMT crew. When someone starts targeting emergency responders, everyone goes on the hunt to find the suspect before he/she can kill again.

I wasn’t sure of the whodunnit but was shocked to find it out at the end of the book. The ending was interesting and well-thought out.

In addition to a good mystery plot, I thought that the characters were interesting and their growth, both on their own and within relationships, made sense and developed at the proper pace.
