A Wonderful Journey In Imagination

The Book of Tomorrow: A Novel

Rating: 5 of 5

“The Book of Tomorrow: A Novel” is another journey in imagination with Cecelia Ahern. It has been a real pleasure reading as Ms. Ahern has grown in her craft. “The Book of Tomorrow” is her latest step forward. We are given a lovely story with elements of fantasy woven into it. Not enough to qualify it as Science Fiction – just enough to remember that Ireland is a fey land – where you just might find a leprechaun hiding his gold or a fairy fluttering about.

The bones of the story involve the life of a young woman who, on the face of it, seems rather self-absorbed. She is on a journey of self-discovery and we trail along behind her. Through the trials, tribulations and revelations of the story, we watch her grow into a much nicer and caring individual. The magical part of the story is woven in but not explained – it simply is and we are asked to accept it or not – just as the various characters in the story are so challenged.

All in all, this novel is yet another jewel in the crown of Ms. Ahern. I look forward to reading her future works with as much enjoyment as I have her books to date.

I was provided an advance reader copy of this book by the publisher.
