Fireworks in Paradise (A Tj Jensen Mystery) (Volume 8)
By: Kathi Daley
Rating: 5 of 5
I’ve read most but not all of the TJ Jensen Mystery series. “Fireworks in Paradise” brings us back to the small town where TJ’s family owns a resort.
TJ’s father has been in an accident that claimed the life of an old family friend. It starts looking as if the accident was anything but accidental but the problem is trying to weed down the list of suspects.
TJ works the case with Kyle as they work through the new dynamic in their relationship. Can two people who work so closely together have a chance of making a go of it? That’s part of the question in this book.
I’ve enjoyed all of the books I have read but feel that reading this one stand-alone is more difficult than not. I suggest reading the books in order to understand the backgrounds of the characters and how they have ended up where they are.
TJ and Kyle has taken on investigations as if it were their jobs rather than happenstance. It might be good for that to be integrated into future stories or at least a semblance of another occupation should be given. Apart from that, I think the book and the series are fun to read and look forward to more in the series in the future.
I was provided a digital advance reader copy of this book by the publisher via Netgalley.
