Mystical Journey Cra-Z-Art Timeless Creations

This is a fairly large coloring book with 64 pages of designs. I’m not sure about the “journey” part of the title but there are many designs of castles and fantasy style creatures and even a very detailed knight.
In fact, detailed is a good description of this coloring book. It has zen tangle style doodling to an abundance. For my taste, it is a trifle too much as in certain images it becomes intricate and difficult to color. There are some designs that I will enjoy coloring but the extremely intricate, small and detailed ones are something I have a bit of difficulty in finishing.
At the time that I am writing this review, it is quiet expensive on Amazon at close to $14.00. I’ve found it at less than half the cost at Walmart.com, so I suggest looking around for Cra-Z-Art coloring books to find the best price.
This is what I found in this coloring book:
64 fantasy style designs with zen doodle style detail
The designs are printed on one side of the page
Paper is white, medium weight, slightly rough and has perforated pages
Glue Binding but with perforated pages so removing a page is fairly simple
The designs do not cross over the perforations and designs have framing lines at the outer edges
Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page
Water-based markers bleed through in spots and show colorful shadows on the back of the page
Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the page. India ink pens can bleed through when I apply more than one layer of ink.
Coloring pencils work well this slightly rough paper. I am able to get good pigment (color) lay down, layer the same color and multiple colors and to blend easily using a pencil style blender. Both oil and wax-based pencils have similar results.
I suggest either removing pages from the book to color or using a blotter page under your working page. I like card stock as it keeps ink from seeping through and damaging the pages below.
