Another fine book in the Thunder Point series

One Wish (Thunder Point)

By: Robyn Carr

Rating: 4.5 of 5

onewish“One Wish” is the latest book in Robyn Carr’s Thunder Point series. I have read the entire series – some books are suspenseful, some are funny, while this one is more of a story that slowly builds from its starting point to a fairly predictable end. The two individuals in the story (Grace and Troy) get together fairly quickly and learn how to trust one another and share their pasts, their future plans, and their fears.

Their relationship starts as friends and slowly builds. Troy is a local high school teacher and Grace works at the flower shop (there is a fairly funny scene early on with her dressed as a witch at Halloween.) Grace has a past history as a champion ice skater that she is hiding from her new friends.

My only problem with this story is the speed with which Troy gets over his infatuation with another character and gets involved in a physical relationship with Grace. It made me think a little less of him and wish for something a little better for Grace. By the end of the book, I was on-board with their relationship but during the early phases, I was wishing for something else.

The story, while enjoyable, was pretty straightforward. It also had some updates on couples and individuals from other books. It introduced a couple of new characters and plot points for future stories. I really like this series and recommend to those who like romance books in an on-going series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via the publisher.
