Great start to an excellent thriller/suspense series

The Silent Corner: A Novel of Suspense

By: Dean Koontz

Rating: 5 of 5

I started the Jane Hawk series with the second book and have read the third one as well. With the fourth, and final, book in the series due to come out in May, I decided this was the right time to back up and read the first book.

I’m glad that I did. While I didn’t need the book to jump right in, it did give me the background that I had to gleam as I went along in books 2 and 3.

In this book, the reader is introduced to Jane Hawk. She is a grieving widow and is mother to a young son. When she begins to suspect that something about her husband’s death is not quite right, the enormity of what she begins to suspect causes her to look at the world with new eyes.

While the revelations of this book were not new to me, I am still very glad to read it. It helped to build the characters into deeper individuals. I highly suggest reading the series in order.

I’m looking forward to the next book but am also sorry to see one of my favorite series coming to an end. I will be looking at other Dean Koontz books in the future.
