Liz Talbot is back on the case and this time she has to deal with a fairly high class brothel

Lowcountry Bordello (A Liz Talbot Mystery) (Volume 4)

lowcountry bordello“Low Country Bordello” is the fourth book in this funny series about a private detective, Liz Talbot, who has a nasty habit of getting involved in solving murder cases – and oh, by the way, almost getting herself killed at the same time.

Liz is days away from her wedding to Nate, her business partner and soul mate when she gets a call from one of her best friends, Olivia. Olivia is dead sure she has stumbled across the body of her husband in a house of ill-repute. Olivia is a pretty high strung individual and wants Liz to come and help her in her hour of need. Thus starts the story and it all gets crazier from that point on.

Turns out that the bordello is pretty high class and has some unusual owners – including Olivia herself. Liz and her fiancee are on the case while at the same time trying to juggle parents, wedding plans, and general mayhem. Not to worry, though, as Liz is once again assisted (on the sly) by her best best friend of all time, Colleen. It just so happens that Colleen is a spirit and has been dead for many years but one can’t let that get in the way of true friends or ham biscuits (one has to read the prior books to get that one.)

I have really enjoyed this series and enjoyed this latest entry as much as any of the others. I had a lot of fun reading the book and trying to solve the mystery at the same time. I recommend the book for anyone who likes a funny cozy mystery with a strong female lead.

I received a digital ARC copy of this book from the publisher, Henery Press, via Netgalley.
