Another great coloring book in this fun series.
The Coloring Cafe-Volume Three- Inspired Heart (Volume 3)
By: Ronnie Walter
Rating: 5 of 5
This is a cute and fun coloring book with lots of variety in coloring options. I love the way this artist looks at life. After coloring in her books, I always feel more optimistic and happy. The designs are similar to the others in this series – I love the dog and cat samplers! There is an adorable cat, a cute pair of socks, mandalas, inspiring sayings, flowers, and a great to color peace sign.

30 Pretty Autumn Garden Designs
Autumn Garden: Colouring Book
By: De-ann Black
Rating: 5 of 5
This book contains 30 designs which pertain to autumn gardens. There are all sorts of elements that are just right for the season: pumpkins, flowers, oak leafs, owls, pomegranates, acorns, pine cones and more. I like that some of the designs are in a circular fashion and some are rectangular, and then also some are free-form in style.
The designs in this book are printed on one side of the white page with the back side left blank. I’m not sure if it is intentional, is something unusual in my book, or is a very slight flaw in printing for all books, but there are anywhere from one to three thin horizontal lines on most pages. These lines are not part of the designs and do not impact my coloring of them but it is there and I needed to make note of them.

Fun whodunnit with a stained glass twist
Pane and Suffering (A Webb’s Glass Shop Mystery)
By: Cheryl Hollon
Rating: 5 of 5
I really enjoyed reading Cheryl Hollon’s debut mystery, “Pane and Suffering”. My favorite genre of books is mystery and I have been working with stained glass off and on for the majority of my adult life. It was a real pleasure to have an author describe a craft so well that you knew that it was something that she actually did and enjoyed. Some crafty cozy mysteries lack that touch of reality.
In this story, Savannah Webb has to travel back home to close up her family’s stained glass business after her father unexpectedly passes away. When the old friend, Hugh (who was going to purchase the shop), also passes away, things begin to look suspicious.

Stunning and outstanding story about horrifying events
Pretty Girls: A Novel
By: Karin Slaughter
Rating: 5 of 5
This was a terrific but really horrifying book to read. I have not read any of Karin Slaughter’s previous books (which is something that I will remedy soon), so I didn’t know what to expect. A thriller, yes, but a book that kept me glued to the page and left me with visuals in my head was not what I thought of with such a sweet and innocuous title.
The story is about three sisters and their father. One of the girls, Julia, goes missing years ago at age 19 and we read about the ensuing years in a journal that the father kept in the form of letters to her. The story about the remaining two sisters is in the present day, though we do hear their remembrances and thoughts about the past, too. The sisters are separated by something that occurred later but which has kept them apart for many years. When another young woman goes missing, the two of them are brought back together again and together they discover their true past and present.

31 Beautiful fashions inspired by the Art Deco period
Creative Haven Art Deco Fashions Coloring Book (Adult Coloring)
By: Ming-Ju Sun
Rating: 5 of 5
This book has great coloring opportunities of Art Deco inspired fashions of the 1920’s, 1930’s and even the early 1940’s. The clothing designs have had a lot of detail added that were not probably part of the clothing of the period but which make it even more fun to color. The designs are by artist Ming-Ju Sun who has a number of coloring books on various fashions in the Dover family of product. Some of the designs are have intricate parts but I don’t think I will have to use my magnifying lamp for this book. I’ve included pictures of both fully colored samples that are printed in the coloring book.

Pretty Flower Mandalas designs that are fun to color
Flower Mandalas Coloring Book (Coloring Is Fun)
By: Thaneeya McArdle
Rating: 5 of 5
This coloring book is a lovely set of 30 mandalas made up of very pretty flowers. It is one of the newer books in the Coloring is Fun series by Thaneeya McArdle. The designs are really lovely and should be fun to color. Most of the designs are in the traditional round shape, are centered in the middle of the page and have a lot of blank white space surrounding them. Some of the designs are fairly open and easy to color and a few have some intricate details but I don’t think I will need my magnifying lamp for these designs.

22 Beautiful Gustav Klimt designs in a coloring book
Gustav Klimt Coloring Book
By: Pomegranate
Rating: 5 of 5
This is a beautiful and well made coloring book of Gustav Klimt famous paintings. All of my favorites are included, so while I had never tried a coloring book by Pomegranate before, I had to get this one. I have had their puzzles in the past and was impressed by their quality, so I thought it might be true with the coloring book and it certainly was. Based on the quality of this book, I will be purchasing more in the future.
The book has 22 designs based on Mr. Klimt’s artwork, including: Woman with Fan, detail of The Kiss, Garden Path with Hens (detail), various designs for the Stoclet frieze, Fritza Riedler (detail), and many more. The designs are well printed with clear lines. They are centered on the page with at least inch of blank space surrounding the frame of the design.

Funny book about investigation the supernatural (or is it?)
Second To Nun (A Giulia Driscoll Mystery) (Volume 2)
By: Alice Loweecey
Rating: 5 of 5
I really enjoyed this book. It was not a murder mystery, which is what I am used to, but instead a book in which Driscoll investigations (and most notably, Giulia) is asked to discover the ghost that is haunting a local bed and breakfast and to get it to depart.
Giulia and crew are very skeptical about the request but as it comes with a promised big paycheck, they take it on. Giulia and her husband, Frank, stay at the B&B posing as guests on a get-away vacation. Right from the start, bizarre things begin to happen. There are psychics involved, ghostly occurrences, and event attempted murders while Giulia is investigating and putting together her answer regarding the haunting.

Nice book for coloring on a trip good compact size
The Creative Colouring Book for Grown-ups
By: Michael O’Mara Books
Rating: 5 of 5
This is a compact travel size book of more than 100 designs which is approximately 7.5 x 5.5 inches. It is the size of a small journal and even has an elastic band to hold the book closed. The designs are a range of floral pictures, abstracts, repetitious patterns, and some that remind me of wallpaper. It is a good mix of designs for a carry-along inexpensive book to color in on the go. Some of the designs are a little too intricate for me to use on the go but those are really the exception and not the rule in this book.
The paper weight is medium and white. The pages are not perforated but the designs leave room at the bound edge so you can color the whole design and, if you wish, remove the page using a pen knife. The book can be opened fairly flat which is a big plus for me.
