Where Do I Sleep?: A Pacific Northwest Lullaby

Rating: 5 of 5
I am always looking for new board books for my young grandchildren. This is a lovely addition to our collection. The illustrations are so well drawn, I thought they might have been photographs. The poem of the book is in a lovely type of sing-song melody as I read it out loud. I am reading it just before nap time and we talk a little about the different animals.
The animals are not the standard ones that you see in board books for children. It is interesting that they are based on the Pacific Northwest and it would be good for future books to showcase animals from other parts of the country so that children from those areas learn more about their natural habitat.
The animals in this book are: Gray Whale, Sea Otter, Bald Eagle, Black-tailed Deer, Gray Wolf, Brown Bat, Mountain Goat, Cougar, Garden Spider, and Red Fox. In many of the pictures, there is a parent as well as baby animals included. The name of each animal is printed on one side of the picture so you can easily identify what you are looking at as you are reading the book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via the publisher.
