drybonesAnother great book in the Walt Longmire series. In this book, a Tyrannosaurus rex is found on the Lone Elk ranch. It turns out to be on of the largest and most intact ever found. Almost immediately, there is a fight for who actually owns the land and the dinosaur.

At the same time, Walt Longmire is caught up in the investigation regarding the death of the owner of the Lone Elk ranch. Danny Lone Elk is found floating dead in a turtle pond on his ranch. Due to the craziness that has erupted around the finding of the dinosaur, Walt decides that he needs to take a closer look at Danny’s death.

Added to the circus that has come to town about the dinosaur, Walt’s family is dealt a tragic blow. He has to process this while trying to figure out if Danny was murdered and if so, who is the murderer?

I enjoy this series tremendously and think that you could pick it up with this book. It would be best to start with book one and work your way through but otherwise, it is still a good stand-alone read though there will be a few references that might not make sense and relationships that were built in prior books.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via the publisher.
