I have been familiar with Maria Diaz for years from her designs published in British cross stitch magazines. I have a number of her books which I have purchased from a local needlework store, including one that has some of her larger and more well known designs. She also does many motif designs and this book is one of that series.
While the emphasis is on landscape in this book, there are many architectural images, too. It is a lovely stitching resource. These designs are larger than the usual motif style that I have purchased in the past. Some of them seem more like full-blown designs than a motif. When I think of motifs, I think of things that can be put together to form a total design or which can be used stand-alone. There are certainly a number of designs which can be put together, such as the seasonal cottage.
It is a beautiful book and one that I recommend to beginner and advanced stitcher alike.
