One of my favorite books by Cecelia Ahern

Love, Rosie

loverosieThis is a lovely story told via letters, emails, instant message, and other forms of written correspondence. It is the story of Rosie Dunne, and to some degree, that of her best friend Alex. I have read many of Cecelia Ahern’s books over the years, including this book when it was first published under another title. This is one of my favorites and it was wonderful to have a chance to read it once again.

The story covers more than 40 years of Rosie’s life – its ups and downs. It is amusing and touching at the same time. Rosie gets knocked down many times over her life. It seems as though every time you think it is the time she will be able to go ahead with her dreams, she gets a huge setback. It is how Rosie deals with those setbacks that bring this story to life. Happily, there is a good ending to all of it and in looking back, Rosie would probably only see the good parts and be able to see beyond the not so good parts.

I recommend this book for anyone who likes a slice of life story that is funny and heartwarming. There are elements of romance but this is not a romance novel by any stretch of the imagination. It is simply a wonderful book. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Hachette Books, via Netgalley.
