The book is made up of short chapters and is printed in largish print with plenty of spacing. There are a few black and white illustrations throughout that help keep the action going.

The story is about Willy Maykit and his quest to become an adventurer just like his father (who is missing in the Amazon.) Willy sets his sights on Planet Ed – which is the local of a school field trip. Willy gets his adventure, along with his friend Cindy, an alien named Norb, his pet seagull, and the android pilot, Max. The story is about their adventures in trying to get home (while avoiding monsters with horrible monster breath) and that of his father who is also trying to find his way home.

As an adult, it took a very short time for me to read but I like it could be a very good bedtime read for the appropriate aged child who is inclined to this type of book. I always let my kids have a half hour of reading time in bed and this would be perfect for that scenario.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via the publisher.
