I’ve previously read another series by this author which I really enjoyed. When I saw that she had written another series, I decided to chance it.

This series is about Samantha Kidd, who has just left her job as a buyer for a well-known department store in New York City. She hasn’t been happy though she has been increasing in stature and is becoming known for her sense of style.

This is the first book I have read by this author as well as the first book in this new cozy mystery series.

The setting is a family-owned ice cream shop that is being taken back to its roots of hand-made ice cream. The woman responsible for this transformation is Bronwyn (Win) Crewse, who has the support for her family in getting the business back to its glory days.

On the day the shop opens, there is a snow storm. There is also a murder and Win finds the body. It turns out that the murdered man (Dead Guy), is an individual who tried to swindle the Crewse family years ago.

This is the second in the Misty Dawn mystery series. While it was certainly a good mystery to read, it was not as funny as the first book in the series.

Things became more serious when it came down to the situation under which the murder took place. A murder takes place that brings many individuals under suspicion and brings Misty into the fray to try to solve it.

Misty is approached by a young woman whose extravagant engagement ring has gone missing and needs her help to locate it before the wedding day. When the same young woman is implicated in a murder, Misty feels honor bound to try to help her.

What can I say? This book’s description had me at Bear Claws, which are my favorite pastry. Reading the book certainly made me look forward to having one in the near future.

Chef Charlie Cookie leaves San Francisco in the dust to head back home to her family’s diner, The Bear Claw, in Elkview, Alaska. Charlie takes over from her parents, who leave for an extended trip. She has a fair amount of disagreements with Chef Oliver, who has been at the head cook at the diner for two decades.

Oliver storms out and is found dead. Charlie comes under suspicion and decides to try to find the killer herself. Turns out that others in the town are willing and able to assist her, especial the town’s cute newspaper reporter.

This is the first book that I have read in this series. At first I wondered if it was some sort of fantasy or paranormal mystery because some of the names of the groups involved. Turns out it is none of these things. There are just teams of people and individuals who have unusual titles who are tasked with protecting the rare items contained in a hidden library

I very quickly came up to speed on the essentials of the continuing plot and was able to pick up the story without any trouble. The entire whodunnit is based on what happens in this book so it can easily be read standalone.

There appears to be an important pivot in the story which may mean more to individuals who have been reading the series for a while. In any case, it was still interesting and seems to project well for the next book in the series.

This is the second short story in one of my favorite cozy mystery series which is set in an Amish candy shop. The full length novels focus on murder mysteries while the short ones are about solving lesser crimes.

In this story, money for a charity has gone missing. Bailey King (who is not Amish), our candy-making sleuth, takes on the mission to try and figure out both whodunnit and how the crime was accomplished.

I am a fan of both mysteries and books set in the Regency period of England. I found this book to be a fun read and the mystery was unusual and compelling.

Sometimes, the characters were out of step with the courtesies and manners of the period and were more in line with today. Even so, I enjoyed the book and look forward to more in the series.

This is the first in a new series of cozy mysteries. Charlotte Finn has inherited a farm in California and has plans to sell it. However, a murder occurs and the body is found on the farm. She finds herself increasing of a mind to keep the farm and make a go of it.

There are a number of side characters, my favorite of which is a pig. Yes, a real pig but one who is smarter than many of the other two-legged characters.
