This is my second coloring book by artist Jennifer Lankenau. Her design style is very flowing and elegant. They are perfect for times when you just want to go with the flow while coloring. The designs in this book are more elegant than strictly traditional Christmas (there are no Santas in this book, for example.) The artist does include a number of traditional elements but in a way that is more unusual. There are a number of designs which focus on flowers and other plants. There are a few intricate details but for the most part, the designs look like they will fun to color without eye strain.

The designs are printed on one side of a nice medium weight non-perforated paper. The binding is glued rather than sewn but all of the designs stop well before the bound edge, so you can easily cut them out if you choose to do so without losing any part of the design. The designs, for the most part, have finished elements at the outer edge which makes it easier for me to have a stopping point when I am coloring.

All of my markers seeped through the page. My gel pens left a shadow on the backside of the page. My coloring pencils worked well with this grade of paper. If I choose to use anything other than pencils, I will put a heavyweight paper or chipboard under the page I am working on to keep any ink from damaging the rest of the book.
