Funny second book in series set in Arizona retirement community

Ditched 4 Murder (Sophie Kimball Mystery Book 2)

By: J.C. Eaton

Rating: 4 of 5

This is the second in a series of mysteries about an accountant/bookkeeper Sophie (“Phee”) Kimball, who keeps getting pulled into murder investigations even though she only works for a private detective and absolutely, is not a detective.

Except that her mother, Harriet, seems to think that being a sleuth is something that rubs off simply by proximity. And maybe, she is right.

In any case, Phee gets pulled into this case because her Aunt Ina is about to have a mental breakdown if the crime is not solved. One begins to wonder a little about Ina as she is great at getting others to do all the heavy lifting.

In this case, Aunt Ina is newly engaged and needs to have her fiance tracked down before the way over-the-top wedding can commence.

Phee is on the trail, along with assistance from her boss. No matter which way she turns and which theory she comes up with, the plot changes and she has to start over again.

It is a fun and fast read and I enjoy humorous cozy mysteries. Nothing is sprung too fast or too hard and the plots are fun and the characters can be downright hysterical… in all sense of the word.
